In-House Accountant

About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented In-House Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our company. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, assisting with payroll and reporting, and supporting management with financial information.
The ideal candidate is organized, trustworthy, detail-focused, and comfortable working independently while maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and process invoices, payments, and deposits
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts
- Monitor cash flow and outstanding receivables
- Assist with payroll processing and related records
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
- Maintain the general ledger and supporting documentation
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Coordinate with outside CPA, tax, and financial professionals as needed
- Ensure financial records are organized and maintained in accordance with company policies
- Assist with year-end closing and tax preparation
- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly
- Maintain strict confidentiality of company and employee financial information
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity and discretion
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
Preferred: Experience with payroll, financial reporting, budgeting, and working with an external CPA or accounting firm.
