POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer I is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing processes across Fulcrum Acoustic's production operations. This role will work closely with production, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to develop expertise in our products and manufacturing methods.
The Manufacturing Engineer will troubleshoot production issues, implement process improvements, develop manufacturing documentation, support new product introductions, and lead projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
This position is ideal for a recent engineering graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop a broad technical and operational skill set in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
POSITION DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manufacturing Process Development
· Develop expertise in Fulcrum Acoustic manufacturing processes, products, equipment, and materials.
· Support production operations by identifying and resolving manufacturing process issues.
· Analyze process performance and implement improvements to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and throughput.
· Assist in the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technologies.
· Partner with R&D Engineering during New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to evaluate manufacturability, develop production processes, create manufacturing documentation, and support successful product launches.
· Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback to improve product quality, reduce manufacturing cost, and simplify production.
· Participate in prototype builds, pilot production runs, and manufacturing validation activities.
· Support new product introduction activities to ensure manufacturability and efficient production.
Technical Problem Solving
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing defects, equipment issues, and process failures.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support troubleshooting of production equipment and work with maintenance or external vendors as needed.
- Collect and analyze manufacturing data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Manufacturing Documentation
- Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and manufacturing structures within the ERP system.
- Develop and update work instructions, visual aids, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Support engineering change implementation and documentation control activities.
Equipment and Tooling
- Assist with specification, purchasing, installation, and qualification of manufacturing equipment and tooling.
- Coordinate equipment setup, validation, and operator training.
- Support preventive maintenance and equipment reliability initiatives.
Training and Operational Support
- Train production employees on new processes, equipment, and work instructions.
- Provide daily support to manufacturing teams and serve as a technical resource on the production floor.
- Work closely with supervisors and operators to identify improvement opportunities.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and participate in projects focused on:
- Safety improvements
- Quality improvement
- Cost reduction
- Throughput improvement
- Waste elimination
- Ergonomic enhancements
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and problem-solving methodologies to improve operational performance.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- 0-2 years of manufacturing, engineering, internship, or co-op experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing documentation.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Exposure to manufacturing processes such as assembly, machining, fabrication, finishing, or testing.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
