Overview
Stern Edlin Graham, P.C. is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Family Law Legal Assistant to join our team. Our firm is known for handling complex divorce and custody matters with professionalism, creativity, and tenacity. The Legal Assistant will support attorneys and paralegals in the administration and management of family law matters, including maintaining case files, monitoring deadlines, preparing and filing routine court documents, and communicating with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel as appropriate. Responsibilities:
· Manage and maintain a large volume of active client files.
· Review dockets, pleadings, motions, notices, and other court filings for deadlines and case updates.
· Maintain calendars for court deadlines, hearings, mediations, depositions, and internal case-management tasks.
· Prepare, organize, and electronically file routine pleadings, motions, notices, and related documents.
· Maintain client files and court documents in the firm’s case-management system.
· Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, vendors, and other third parties as needed.
· Assist attorneys and paralegals with administrative and case-management tasks.
· Support document management, correspondence, and follow-up tasks to ensure timely client service.
Qualifications:
· 1–2 years of legal experience preferred; family law experience is a plus.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
· Experience with electronic filing systems and legal case-management software preferred.
· Strong time-management and communication skills.
· Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
· May require occasional lifting of files or equipment up to 15 pounds.
Starting Salary
· $55,000+ commensurate with experience
