Role Overview
As a Field Service Specialist at VITA Detection, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and support to our customers. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our advanced systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Your expertise will not only help in resolving technical issues but also in enhancing the overall customer experience through effective communication and problem-solving strategies.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation of baggage screening equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols complete with radiation survey around the unit to ensure the safety for operators as per state requirements.
- Conduct system checks and validations post-installation to ensure proper functionality.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting support for installed equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Respond to service calls and on-site requests in a timely manner, addressing technical issues and providing solutions for customers.
- Conduct training sessions for customers on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and best practices.
- Collect feedback from customers regarding equipment performance and service, providing insights to management for potential improvements.
- Support the sales team by providing technical expertise during customer presentations and demonstrations.
- Assist with the preparation of technical documentation and proposals related to equipment sales and service contracts.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including installation reports, maintenance logs, and service tickets.
- Prepare regular reports on service activities, customer feedback, and equipment performance metrics.
- Participate in training and development programs to stay current with industry trends and technological advancements in baggage screening and security systems.
- Contribute to the development of technical resources and customer training materials.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in field service engineering or technical support
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in English and Spanish, with a focus on customer engagement
- Experience with electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols
- Certifications in relevant technical areas (e.g., HVAC, CNC machinery)
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software
- Experience with system integration and troubleshooting methodologies
- Knowledge of control systems and automation technologies
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technology

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
