Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting liquid bulk goods safely and efficiently to various locations while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle liquid bulk tankers.
Duties
- Comply with all Federal, State and local laws regulating safe driving and the safe and proper handling of hazardous & nonhazardous materials.
- Immediately notify the dispatcher of malfunctioning equipment or unsafe condition that needs immediate action and follow up with the Terminal/Safety manager.
- Transport raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or distribution centers to customer receiving plants.
- Assist with loading/unloading activities, coupling and uncoupling chemical hoses.
- Attached grounding cables to tank truck and receiving tank when warranted.· Read gauges and meters while operating hydraulic pumps, air compressors and PTO shaft driven systems.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventive maintenance.
- Plan route and meet delivery schedules.
- Document electronically all logged work/rest periods and miles spent driving or on duty and retain all fuel/toll receipts, delivery receipts, vcr reports and any other pertinent documents pertaining to the order.
- Input “macros” into our automated dispatch system for each stage of the loading and unloading process.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.· Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.·
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.
- Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements are required
- Valid TWIC is required
- 3 Years of verifiable driving experience
- Flexibility to run Locally and Regionally
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a strong understanding of driving regulations.
- Experience operating tractor trailer tankers carrying liquid bulk is preferred.
- Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures for liquid bulk products to include both hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
Owner – Operator Applicants
· Tractor weight 19,500 with full fuel) [provided via weight ticket]
· Tractor height: 13’2” or less (midroof)
· Tractor fifth wheel: 50” or higher
· Tractors must be able to pass a Langer Transport and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) inspection.
· Must provide valid Registration / Plates and an Insurance Certificate of Liability
