Derailed restaurant at Hotel Nickel Plate is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as AM & PM Host/Hostess - Server Assistant. This role is vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests, ensuring exceptional guest experiences from arrival to departure. Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional guest relations
- Assist servers by delivering food and beverages, refilling drinks, and clearing tables efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining areas
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimize guest flow
- Provide accurate information about menu items, hotel amenities, and services to guests
- Handle guest inquiries courteously via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Support the front-of-house team during busy service times to ensure smooth operations
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing and billing when necessary
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit
Skills
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Previous hotel or guest services experience is advantageous
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance with good phone etiquette and guest relations skills
- Hospitality background including serving experience is beneficial but not mandatory
