AUTOBODY TECHNICIAN – EXPERIENCED OR ENTRY LEVEL
Phoenix Collision & Restoration is looking for an Autobody Technician to join our family-owned shop in Greenville, Wisconsin.
We are open to both experienced technicians and entry-level applicants who are dependable, mechanically inclined, and genuinely interested in developing a career in collision repair and restoration. Experience is valued, but we are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Autobody Technician will assist with or independently perform collision and body repairs based on their experience and skill level. Work may include disassembly and reassembly, dent and panel repair, welding, body filler work, sanding, panel replacement, and preparation for refinishing.
Responsibilities will be assigned according to the technician’s abilities. Entry-level employees will work alongside experienced team members and receive hands-on training as they develop their skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicles for collision repairs
- Repair or replace damaged body panels and components
- Perform dent repair, metalwork, welding, and body filler work as qualified
- Prepare repaired surfaces and vehicles for refinishing
- Follow repair plans and manufacturer-recommended repair procedures
- Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
- Maintain an organized and safe work area
- Properly care for shop tools and equipment
- Communicate with the owner and other team members regarding repair progress or concerns
- Help keep repairs moving efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Complete additional shop-related duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
We will consider applicants at different experience levels.
Experienced applicants:
- Previous professional autobody or collision-repair experience
- Knowledge of vehicle disassembly, reassembly, panel replacement, metal repair, welding, and body filler work
- Ability to complete quality repairs with limited supervision
- Ability to follow estimates, repair plans, and manufacturer procedures
- Frame or structural-repair experience is a plus
- I-CAR or other industry certifications are helpful but not required
Entry-level applicants:
- Autobody education, shop classes, personal project experience, or previous hands-on mechanical experience is helpful but not required
- A genuine interest in learning collision and autobody repair
- Willingness to accept instruction, ask questions, and learn from experienced technicians
- Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools
- Commitment to developing skills and producing quality work
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS

- Strong work ethic and willingness to stay productive throughout the day
- Attention to detail and pride in completed work
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Ability to communicate honestly about progress, mistakes, or concerns
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely lift and move parts, tools, and materials commonly used in autobody repair
- Willingness to follow all shop safety procedures
- Must provide basic personal hand tools appropriate for their skill level; tool expectations can be discussed during the interview

PAY
$20–$26 per hour, based on experience, skill level, and demonstrated ability. Opportunities for pay increases based on consistent attendance, dependable performance, quality workmanship, productivity, and continued skill development.
