Gem State Staffing is now hiring Packaging Operators for a full-time position with one of the area's leading manufacturing facilities in Jerome, Idaho. As a Packaging Operator, you'll play a key role in ensuring finished products are accurately packaged, inspected, documented, and prepared for shipment while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Package finished products according to quality standards.
- Read, interpret, and maintain production and packaging log sheets.
- Perform quality inspections on packaged products and identify defects.
- Conduct daily metal detection and quality control checks.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and inventory records.
- Transfer finished products to warehouse storage.
- Scan products into the inventory management system.
- Complete pre-operational equipment inspections.
- Operate packaging equipment and production machinery safely.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), OSHA regulations, sanitation guidelines, and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to meet daily production goals.
- Perform additional production and packaging duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, packaging, production, or food processing experience preferred.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn new equipment and processes.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to accurately complete production documentation.
