Position Summary
DFW Longhorn Electric is seeking an experienced Lead Commercial Service Technician to support our growing commercial and multifamily service division throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This position requires a Texas Journeyman Electrician License and is intended for a highly skilled electrician capable of independently troubleshooting, estimating, and completing commercial electrical service work while providing exceptional customer service.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a technician who can represent DFW Longhorn Electric professionally in the field, solve problems independently, build strong customer relationships, and help grow our service division. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, customer-oriented, and capable of taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to commercial and multifamily service calls independently.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, controls, lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Perform repairs, installations, upgrades, and maintenance on commercial electrical systems.
- Lead and direct apprentices and helpers as assigned.
- Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, facility managers, and general contractors.
- Identify additional work opportunities and assist management with generating change orders and proposals.
- Complete accurate service reports, material lists, and job documentation.
- Manage small projects from start to completion.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License required.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working on commercial service calls and occupied facilities.
- Ability to read electrical plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and common electrical testing equipment.
Preferred
- Multifamily electrical experience.
- Experience with tenant finish-outs and remodel projects.
- Experience with lighting upgrades and retrofit projects.
- Experience with emergency lighting and life safety systems.
- Experience with EV charger installations.
- Experience performing service work for property management companies, commercial customers, and facility managers.
- Texas Master Electrician License is a plus.
