Responsibilities
- Efficiently clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following established food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in maintaining smooth operations.
- Manage bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and ensuring dining areas are tidy for guests.
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and correctly to maximize efficiency.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and supplies while following proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations.
- Support food handling procedures by ensuring all items are stored properly and surfaces are sanitized regularly.
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation standards within a hospitality environment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and basic cooking tools.
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic knife skills or culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory.
