Position Summary: The Sr. Test Technician is responsible for independently performing testing functions and creating detailed reports in the execution of highly complex test plans, and supporting the department in helping to develop test procedures and best practices. The Sr. Test Technician draws on extensive ammunition and testing experience and technical and creative skills to test ammunition in accordance with developed standards. They will collaborate with Test team, as well as all areas within Research & Development.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely and effectively operates test equipment according to manuals, work instructions, or industry standards.
- Independently follow highly complex test plans to execute testing of ammunition and ammunition components as assigned.
- Independently analyze test data to provide periodic, accurate test status reports to Management as assigned.
- May lead and actively volunteer for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
- Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
- Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent, or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 7-10 years as a Test Technician in the firearms and ammunition industry required.
- Experience using and maintaining firearms, and the ability to recognize common ammunition defects is required.
- Previous experience with core ammunition test techniques: Pressure, Velocity, Dispersion, and Function, is required.
- Demonstrated ability to master and execute new measurement and test techniques is required. Experience with multiple advanced test techniques, (High-speed video, Doppler Radar, etc.) is required.
- Maintain qualifications to act as a Range Safety Officer to include passing First Aid/Trauma Management classes.
- Maintain range certification while always handling and shooting firearms in accordance with SIG SAUER Inc. policy.
- Department of Defense firearm qualifications with M4, M17, M249, and M240 is preferred.
- Pistol, rifle, and shotgun training certifications from a recognized firearms academy is required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Oracle EBS preferred.
- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
- Helps in other parts of the team regularly, works with and relays information to other departments regularly.
- Able to operate independently at a high level and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) with the exception of breaks/lunch periods.
- The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing area where frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
- Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, be able to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery.
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception and ability to focus.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
