Pay: $21.00/hr
Exact Staff is hiring for our client. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Housing Maintenance Worker to help maintain residential properties, housing units, and community grounds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or general construction who takes pride in quality workmanship and providing safe, well-maintained housing.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Perform maintenance and repair work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance
- Inspect housing units and facilities to identify repair needs and safety concerns
- Complete preventive and corrective maintenance on residential properties and community grounds
- Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company procedures
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe working condition
- Assist with after-hours or emergency maintenance calls as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–2 years of maintenance, facilities, construction, or property maintenance experience preferred
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building systems
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools
- Valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and perform physically demanding work
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Excellent reliability and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in public housing, apartment communities, or government facilities
- HVAC, plumbing, or electrical certifications
- Experience using maintenance management or work order tracking systems
Pay, Schedule, and Location
- Pay Rate: $21.00/hr
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM-5:00 PM | Alternating Fridays, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
- Location: Merced, CA 95341
