Responsibilities
- Efficiently clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Operate dishwashing machines and manual cleaning tools with precision and care.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas are tidy and welcoming.
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.
- Handle heavy lifting of pots, pans, crates, and supplies safely according to manual handling protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and ensure proper disposal of waste to uphold sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with culinary staff to ensure timely availability of clean dishes and utensils for food service.
- Adhere strictly to food safety management practices to prevent contamination or hazards.
- Assist with catering or banquet setups when required, supporting large-scale food service events.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is valued!
- Familiarity with food handling, sanitation procedures, and kitchen health standards is advantageous.
- Experience operating commercial dishwashing equipment or similar kitchen appliances is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and basic culinary skills will help you excel in this role.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is essential.
- Prior experience with banquet or catering services can be beneficial but is not required; training will be provided.
