Primary Purpose of Position
Works as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the medical clinic at the Student Health Center. Screens patients and obtains pertinent medical data, collects vital signs and specimens, administers medications and vaccines, assists healthcare providers with procedures as needed, prepares and cleans the examining area, monitors the flow of patients, follows up on missed appointments, and carries out Physician orders. Provide patient education and counseling.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a current North Carolina license to practice as a Practical Nurse.

Essential Job Duties
Provides nursing care for patients presenting to the medical clinic at Student Health. Performs patient intakes, including vital signs, for patients presenting for appointments with a healthcare provider in the medical clinic. Assist the provider with procedures, carries out provider orders such as medication administration and other treatments.
Other Work Responsibilities
Participates in on-campus health and wellbeing events such as vaccine clinics and health fairs.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
- Recent experience providing direct nursing care in an outpatient healthcare setting.
- Experience using electronic medical records
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service
- Experience providing nursing care to a college-aged population
Necessary Licenses or Certifications
Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
