Position: Estimator (Structural)
Summary of Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing, construction projects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service in the structural steel industry.
Essential position Responsibilities
- Complete material take-offs for structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
- Working up and completing accurate estimates and material take-offs.
- Review design drawings and specifications using discretion, best judgment and evaluation of industry standards and practices to minimize various possibilities of risk.
- Coordinates with other estimators, sub-contractors, and vendors to make sure that the full scope of a project is covered.
- Entering and maintaining project information into sales software.
- Research upcoming projects and aid in developing a customer base.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Qualities
- Organized
- Must have general computer experience along with experience using spreadsheet and word processing programs.
- Ability to read and understand plans and specs.
