Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Charter Captain to lead and operate our passenger vessels, providing exceptional experiences for clients on fishing charters, private charters, and tours. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for safely navigating waterways, ensuring passenger comfort, and delivering outstanding customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate passenger vessels, including motor yachts and other watercraft, adhering to all maritime safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-departure inspections of the vessel’s mechanical systems, safety equipment, and navigational tools to ensure optimal condition
- Provide engaging and professional customer service to guests, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment throughout the trip
- Navigate waterways accurately using charts, GPS systems, and other navigational aids while maintaining a smooth voyage
- Manage onboard operations such as fueling, cleaning, minor maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting mechanical issues as needed
- Communicate effectively with crew members, passengers, and emergency responders in all situations
- Maintain detailed logs of vessel operations, safety checks, maintenance activities, and trip reports
Experience
Must be USCG Certified
- Proven experience in boat or vessel operation with a strong background in marine navigation and safety procedures
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to marine engines and vessel maintenance
- Knowledge of local fish and tackle
- Experience in customer service roles within transportation or hospitality industries
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial boating license or captain’s license required or obtainable upon hire
- Strong communication skills in English; ability to clearly convey instructions and safety information to guests and crew members
