We are looking for a personable and friendly Switchboard Operator to join our experienced Call Center Team. This individual serves as the first point of contact for customers when calling into Watertown Savings Bank. Providing professional and courteous service for all incoming telephone calls and directing inquiries to the appropriate departments is their primary responsbility. This position also supports the bank's daily administrative operations through customer communications/mailing, special projects, and other clerical duties. The individual must also maintain a general knowledge of all bank products and services necessary for success.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate the bank's multi-line telephone system and other Bank related applications efficiently and professionally.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls to appropriate personnel or departments while maintaining confidentiality of customer and bank information.
- Provide general information regarding bank products, services, hours, and locations.
- Take accurate messages and ensure timely delivery to staff members.
- Prepare and coordinate customer mailings, including statements, notices, and other bank communications.
- Perform data entry and maintain records, files, and databases
- Assist with filing, scanning and copying.
- Complete specialized projects as assigned by the Call Center Management Team
- Order and maintain office supplies as assigned.
- Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements and complete required compliance and security training timely.
- Report any suspicious activity or security concerns according to bank policy.
- Represent the Bank at local community events and business organizations in support of outreach and engagement initiatives.
- Hours: Monday/Tuesday/Friday - 8:15am-4:15pm & Wednesday/Thursdays - 11am-4pm
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous customer service, receptionist, switchboard, or administrative experience preferred. Banking experience a plus.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently as part of a team.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- General knowledge of bank products and services.
