Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lead Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for toddlers, fostering their developmental growth through age-appropriate activities and personalized care. This role requires strong classroom management skills, a passion for teaching young children, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families. The Lead Toddler Teacher will serve as a role model and leader within our educational community, ensuring high-quality care and education for all children.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with childhood development principles and early childhood education standards.
- Supervise and guide assistant teachers and caregivers to maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through age-appropriate activities tailored to individual needs.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of children's developmental milestones, attendance, and daily activities.
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions.
- Lead by example in implementing best practices in childcare, including first aid procedures and inclusive practices for children with disabilities or special needs.
- Collaborate with team members to create an inclusive learning environment that supports diversity and individual differences.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is required.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills with toddlers or preschoolers.
- Experience with children who have special needs or disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices is essential.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; ongoing training in behavior management and caregiving is encouraged.
- Previous roles such as nannying or babysitting that involved caregiving or teaching young children will be considered valuable experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
