Location: Travel is required in the Houston, TX and surrounding areas.
Job Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to support skilled nursing facilities by working with the MDS Resource to ensure compliance and accuracy in resident assessments and documentation at the facilities. Responsibilities include assisting in the review of reports to identify trends, performing and correcting MDS submissions, and assisting in the guidance, training, and development opportunities for MDS Nurses at each facility. This role helps ensure the timely and accurate completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and resident care plans, in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- We are looking for a person that is passionate about the RAI process and has a love to educate and share their knowledge with others and to mentor them to be successful MDS Coordinators.
- Texas RN or LVN license is required
- At least 3 years MDS experience to include OBRA and PDPM
- Able to travel where needed
- Able to be away from home if facility requires hotel lodging due to distance
- Able to step in and lead the MDS role for an open position
- Self-motivated
