What You'll Do
As the Associate Vice President, Business Operations, you will provide strategic leadership for the College's financial operations by:
- Partnering with the Chief Financial Officer to develop long-term financial strategies that support the College's mission and strategic priorities.
- Leading the development, administration, and forecasting of the College's operating and capital budgets.
- Overseeing financial planning, revenue modeling, cost management, and fiscal sustainability initiatives.
- Developing financial models, forecasts, and executive-level reports that support informed institutional decision-making.
- Monitoring organizational budgets, identifying financial risks and opportunities, and recommending proactive solutions.
- Leading continuous improvement efforts by strengthening financial policies, internal controls, business processes, and operational efficiencies.
- Providing leadership and supervision to business operations staff while fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Coordinating internal and external audits, managing compliance activities, and ensuring timely implementation of audit recommendations.
- Overseeing the preparation and submission of required financial reports in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Managing the College's invested funds and banking relationships to support long-term financial stability.
- Representing the Budget Office before executive leadership, the District Board of Trustees, and professional organizations.
- Providing financial guidance, training, and technical support to budget managers and campus leaders across the institution.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, budgeting, accounting, business operations, or a related field.
- Experience in financial planning, forecasting, financial analysis, and fiscal oversight.
- Experience leading and supervising professional staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education or public-sector financial management.
- Experience preparing executive-level financial reports and presentations.

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, along with the ability to learn institutional systems.
Work Environment
This position primarily works in an office environment and requires:
- Travel between Seminole State campuses and occasional off-site meetings and events.
- Occasional out-of-state travel for conferences and professional development.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when business needs require.
Pay: From $112,032.00 per year
