NX CAM Programmer / CNC Programmer – 2nd Shift
Location: Greenville, SC
Shift: 2:30pm–11pm, Monday–Friday
Pay: $50.00–$60.00/hour
Type: 18-month contract with potential contract-to-direct opportunity
Seeking experienced NX CAM Programmers to support 2nd-shift CNC programming, process development and shop-floor operations. This is a hands-on role for a programmer who can develop, set up and prove out complex first-piece programs.
Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain and improve CNC programs using NX CAM or comparable CAM software.
- Support machining operations including large VTLs, VBMs, 5-axis gantry machines and vertical turn/grind equipment.
- Program multi-axis milling, turning, grinding and/or EDM processes.
- Verify new CNC programs using Vericut or comparable CNC simulation software before shop-floor release.
- Develop and support on-machine probing routines, including Renishaw cycles and error-trapping logic.
- Provide daily CNC programming and troubleshooting support to machine operators and manufacturing engineering.
- Assist with tooling, fixturing, workstation instructions and process improvements.
- Support new or rebuilt machine startups, including operator training.
- Lead improvement efforts that enhance safety, quality, cost and delivery.
- Communicate effectively and work independently as well as within a fast-paced team environment.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of graphical CAM system CNC programming experience.
- Hands-on machining background with the ability to set up and prove out complex first-piece programs.
- Ability to create CNC programs from scratch when needed.
- Experience creating 5-axis CNC programs using CAM software.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and machining requirements.
- Strong shop math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to work 2nd shift in Greenville, SC.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Siemens NX CAM experience.
- Experience with Vericut or other CNC verification/machine simulation software.
- Experience with Renishaw probing, macro/subroutine programming, variable-based programming or closed-loop machining.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, Okuma and/or Siemens controls.
- Experience machining large-format parts with tight tolerances.
- Experience machining nickel-based superalloys, such as Inconel, Rene or Hastelloy.
- Heavy-duty gas turbine or aerospace machining experience.
