Job Title: Electrical Technician
Location: Charlottesville, VA area
Compensation: Up to $40/hour. Retention bonus of $3,000
Shift: Dayshift Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Job Description:
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing and resolving malfunctions in operational equipment and performing both preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems across all areas of the plant.
- Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on a wide range of plant equipment.
- Plan, conduct, and document periodic electrical testing to ensure systems meet operational standards.
- Recommend and implement modifications or replacements for equipment that fails to meet performance requirements.
- Install and maintain electrical and electronic components, wiring, and control systems.
- Utilize precision test instruments to diagnose faults in equipment and machinery.
- Ensure all machines, tools, and assigned areas are properly maintained and operating efficiently.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical/electronic components, wiring, and hardware as needed.
- Adhere to technical procedures and safety protocols related to system and equipment maintenance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Certificate from a college or technical school (minimum one year), or
- Two to four years of related experience and/or training, or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting relay logic diagrams
- Strong understanding of AC/DC motor and drive systems
- Knowledge of transformer theory and application
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
