Coastal Academic is looking for dependable, engaging tutors who enjoy working one-on-one and in small groups with students preparing for the SAT, ACT, high school math courses, AP coursework, and challenging academic classes.
This is a local, in-person tutoring opportunity serving families in Ponte Vedra Beach & Nocatee. Coastal Academic is preparing to open a learning center, and we are building our local tutor network for student opportunities beginning around the August school-year launch.
This role is a strong fit for teachers, experienced tutors, graduate students, STEM graduates, engineers, or subject-matter experts who enjoy helping students build confidence, improve skills, and prepare for important academic goals.
Areas of Interest
We are especially interested in tutors with strength in one or more of the following areas:
- SAT Math
- ACT Math
- High school math, including Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, PreCalculus, or Calculus
- AP Calculus, AP PreCalculus, AP Statistics, or other AP coursework
- Science, including Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
- SAT/ACT Reading, English, or Writing
- General academic support for motivated middle school or high school students
Tutors do not need to teach every subject listed. We match student opportunities based on subject expertise, student needs, tutor availability, and fit.

Contractor Services May Include
- Provide in-person tutoring for students in agreed-upon subject areas
- Support SAT, ACT, high school math, AP, science, or academic coursework based on your expertise
- Help students strengthen skills, confidence, organization, and test-taking strategy
- Adapt instruction to the student’s current level, goals, and learning needs
- Provide brief progress notes or updates when requested
- Maintain a professional, structured, and encouraging learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; strong current degree candidates in math, science, education, engineering, or related fields may also be considered.
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or instructing students
- Strong knowledge in one or more academic subjects, especially SAT/ACT math or high school math
- Reliable transportation to the Ponte Vedra Beach area
- Professional, dependable, punctual, and engaging with students
- Willingness to complete onboarding requirements, including background check, W-9, and independent contractor agreement
Schedule
Tutors provide their availability and may accept student opportunities that fit their schedule and subject strengths. Highest demand is typically after school, evenings, and weekends. Daytime availability may also be helpful for summer, homeschool, and special programs.
