Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical) Technician to join our power plant team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical and instrumentation systems. You will participate in the oversight of contractors installing new control systems to ensure optimal equipment performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Duties
- Perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, sensors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic components, and instrumentation equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics issues using schematics, wiring diagrams (P&IDs), electrical blueprints, and troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Maintain and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), vision inspection systems, CNC machinery, and industrial controls to ensure continuous operation.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment including calibration of sensors and instrumentation to uphold quality standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and engineering drawings for accurate system diagnostics and repairs.
- Implement electrical safety procedures during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on projects involving AutoCAD drawings, electrical blueprint reading, and system upgrades to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic systems, and mechanical components used in industrial settings.
- Proven experience in industrial electrician work with a strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with industrial automation systems including sensors, PLC programming (including Calypso), high voltage/low voltage systems, and electrical instrumentation.
- Ability to read complex schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and electrical blueprints accurately.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters and calibration tools for maintaining equipment accuracy.
- Experience with equipment troubleshooting across manufacturing environments involving CNC machines or vision inspection systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures aligned with industry standards; experience working with high voltage is a plus.
- Competence in field service activities including troubleshooting on-site issues in manufacturing plants or customer facilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined.
Pay: $36.00 - $49.00 per hour
