The Job
This is a professional grooming role. You should be comfortable:
- Grooming 4–7 dogs per day with full front-desk support (workload depends on the dogs, larger time blocks given for reactive, anxious, and senior pups)
- Working confidently with small, medium, and large breeds
- Handling puppies, seniors, and dogs with varying comfort levels
- Staying on pace with established time blocks
- Communicating clearly with both clients and teammates
We maintain structured, predictable days, but groomers should be flexible when schedules shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-service grooming for common coat types and breeds
- Breed-standard cuts, hand-scissoring, de-sheds, and appropriate de-matting
- Grooming dogs of all sizes (including 50–100+ lbs)
- Maintaining a clean, safe, organized workspace
- Accurate notes and schedule management using GroomMore
- Clear, professional communication with clients and teammates
- Consistent adherence to safety and handling protocols
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years professional grooming experience
- Strong handling skills and comfort working with all dog sizes
- Ability to maintain a consistent 4–7 dog/day pace
- Confidence with puppies, seniors, and dogs new to the salon
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent work habits
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs with proper technique
- Willingness to use safety equipment when needed
- Team-oriented, professional communication style
- Comfort using computer/phone apps and scheduling software
Preferred Skills
- Experience with high-velocity dryers and efficient workflow
- Knowledge of coat care for doodles, double-coats, terriers, and poodles
- Understanding of skin/coat health and product selection
- Experience with senior or special-needs dogs
- Strong customer-service communication
