Responsibilities
- Officiate youth soccer matches by enforcing game rules and maintaining fair play throughout each game
- Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and spectators to promote sportsmanship and resolve conflicts promptly
- Monitor player safety and ensure adherence to safety protocols during games
- Handle on-field incidents with professionalism, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate disputes
- Conduct basic first aid when necessary, including CPR or AED operation in emergency situations
- Assist with setting up equipment and managing game logistics such as player substitutions and timekeeping
- Maintain accurate records of game scores, incidents, and any disciplinary actions taken during matches
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in sports coaching, conflict management, or officiating is preferred
- Knowledge of soccer rules and basic understanding of other sports such as basketball or baseball is advantageous
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of equipment or supplies when needed
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, coaches, and fellow officials
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and standing for extended periods
- Experience working with children and promoting positive sporting experiences is highly valued
