ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Instructional Aides play an essential role in supporting DLA’s mission to help every student succeed academically and socially. The instructional aide works collaboratively with General Educator Teachers and Intervention Specialists to support the instructional delivery critical to the success of students with personalized behavior and academic plans.Instructional aids support a student/group of students throughout the day in the general education setting. The aide will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the student’s modified curriculum and behavior intervention plan. The essential functions are:
I. INSTRUCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand the goals and objectives outlined in the assigned students’ academic and behavior plans
Implement lesson plans as designed by the teacher; support in the delivery of instruction for assigned students.
Systematically record data specific to assigned students regarding overall instructional progress, achievement of personal goals, behavioral incidents, baseline behavior and other information as required.
Utilize instructional techniques and appropriate instructional material as prescribed by the teacher team
Follow all classroom procedures and expectations
II. PROFESSIONALISM
Contribute in meaningful ways to school-wide goals and student goals
Implement school and district policies and procedures
Supervise students at all times; supervise non-classroom activities when assigned in accordance with the negotiated agreement
Respect personal privacy; maintain the confidentiality of privileged information
Perform other specific job-related duties as directed in accordance with the negotiated agreement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
I.EDUCATION: Associates Degree preferred, High School Diploma required
II. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Ability to build relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Highly effective writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Effective use of technology (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, online attendance and gradebooks)
