Position Overview:
TAG is seeking a Cable Department Technician to assist in maintaining, preparing, and deploying cable for live events. This hands-on role is critical to ensuring all cable inventory is organized, functional, and ready for production. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and eager to work as part of a fast-paced technical team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, testing, and labeling cable inventory.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the cable department.
- Prepare and package cable for upcoming events and productions.
- Perform minor repairs on cable and related equipment.
- Scan and track all cable inventory in RentalWorks.
- Support warehouse and production teams with loading, unloading, and installation tasks as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and company standards for all tasks.
- Report issues or damaged equipment to the Cable Department Manager promptly.
- For departing and incoming orders, pull and stage equipment for shows quickly and efficiently using our inventory system
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in cable management, AV, or entertainment production preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy cable and equipment safely.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow instructions.
- Strong team player with good communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking (RentalWorks experience a plus).
- Must speak English
- Basic computer knowledge
- Able to work late / weekends during peak seasons / busy weeks
- The capacity to multitask and pay attention to detail are critical
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification preferred
- Able to lift / move minimum 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand or move for up to 100 percent of work time, 8 hours daily: Frequent use of hand tools, bending, stooping, lifting, climbing stairs, carrying, walking, and/or reaching are all examples of physical activity
