This is not a general accounting position. We are seeking a Controller who has successfully managed the finances of multi unit restaurant operations and understands the unique financial, operational, and inventory challenges of the hospitality industry.

Legacy Hospitality is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our expanding portfolio of restaurants, entertainment venues, and hospitality concepts.
This is not a traditional accounting position. We are looking for a strategic financial leader who understands restaurant operations as well as they understand financial statements. The ideal candidate has extensive multi unit restaurant experience and thrives in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Our brands include high volume full service restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, fast casual concepts, and new developments that continue to redefine hospitality in Pittsburgh.
Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial reporting for multiple restaurant concepts.
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
- Prepare and oversee all Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and supporting financial schedules.
- Ensure timely and accurate month end and year end close processes.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Analyze labor, food cost, beverage cost, prime cost, inventory, and profitability by location.
- Develop executive KPI dashboards and operational reporting.
- Oversee all inventory accounting, recipe costing, and cost controls.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of sales, cash, credit card settlements, gift cards, merchant processors, and bank accounts.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger.
- Supervise and develop the bookkeeping and accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and adherence to deadlines.
- Establish and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and financial procedures.
- Coordinate year end financial statements, tax preparation, and outside auditors.
- Partner with operations leadership to improve financial performance across all concepts.
- Assist ownership with financing, lender reporting, investor reporting, acquisitions, and new restaurant openings.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of significant restaurant accounting experience is required.
- Experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller for a multi unit restaurant or hospitality company is strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience with Restaurant365 (R365) is required.
- Extensive experience with Toast POS is required.
- Strong experience with restaurant inventory systems and inventory controls.
- Experience creating and analyzing Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, budgets, forecasts, and executive financial reports.
- Experience with recipe costing, menu engineering, theoretical food and beverage cost analysis, and inventory variance reporting.
- Strong understanding of restaurant payroll, labor management, and scheduling analytics.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred but not required.

Pay: $82,722.64 - $99,622.97 per year
