TRC Talent Solutions, in partnership with a growing engineering and electrical systems organization, is seeking a Project Manager – Electrical Systems for an onsite opportunity in Corpus Christi, TX. This company specializes in designing, building, and delivering automation, instrumentation, and power solutions for major industrial and energy-sector clients.
We are seeking an accomplished project leader with deep experience managing engineered-to-order electrical systems projects. The Project Manager will oversee the engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, and delivery of modular electrical structures including MCC buildings, medium-voltage VFD enclosures, E-Houses, and electrical distribution skids. This highly technical, customer-facing role serves as the primary point of contact between customers, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the complete project lifecycle from contract review and project kickoff through manufacturing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), shipment, and project closeout.
- Review and interpret customer specifications, purchase orders, single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and scope-of-work documents to establish project requirements.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost tracking reports, and resource plans while providing regular project updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities across electrical engineering, mechanical design, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams to achieve project milestones.
- Manage customer change orders, RFIs, submittals, and scope modifications while negotiating schedule and cost impacts.
- Review, approve, and track procurement of critical materials and long-lead equipment including transformers, switchgear, medium-voltage drives, and specialty electrical components.
- Lead internal project review meetings and customer-facing milestone events including design reviews, submittal reviews, and Factory Acceptance Tests.
- Identify, document, and proactively mitigate project risks while escalating critical issues as necessary.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation before release to manufacturing or customers.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards including NFPA, NEC, UL, IEEE, NEMA, and IEC requirements.
- Coordinate shipping and logistics requirements for oversized modular electrical equipment, including rigging plans, transportation permits, and carrier coordination.
- Support proposal and estimating efforts by providing technical guidance, schedule input, and lessons learned from previous projects.
- Monitor project financial performance, cost-to-complete forecasts, and billing activities in partnership with finance and leadership teams.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including action logs, meeting minutes, submittal registers, change orders, and project records.
- Mentor junior project managers and coordinators while contributing to best practices, process improvements, and organizational standards.
- Support business development initiatives by providing technical expertise during customer discussions and proposal development activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Approximately 15 years of project management experience within modular fabrication, electrical systems integration, power distribution, or engineered equipment manufacturing environments.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong experience managing engineered-to-order capital equipment projects within industrial sectors such as oil & gas, mining, water/wastewater, energy, manufacturing, or data centers.
- Electrical Systems Expertise: Deep understanding of electrical distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, VFDs, E-Houses, electrical skids, and modular power solutions.
- Project Management: Proven success managing complex projects involving engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, and delivery.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Codes & Standards: Strong knowledge of NFPA, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, UL, API, IEC, and related industry standards.
- Communication Skills: Excellent customer-facing communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Organization: Strong planning, documentation, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management skills.
- Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams while driving accountability and project execution.
- Safety: Commitment to maintaining safe work practices in manufacturing and industrial environments.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- Software: Experience with project management, ERP, and document control systems; BlueBeam Revu experience is a plus.
- Certifications: PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license are preferred.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
