Air Compressor Technician - Elizabethtown, KY ( Louisville, Lexington)
Job Description:
John Bouchard and Sons Co. (JBS), a family-owned and operated business, is seeking an Air Compressor Technician for its Elizabethtown, KY operations. The role requires proficiency in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of industrial, rotary screw & reciprocating air compressors and air dryers. Experience in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial mechanical and electrical industrial equipment is required.
Experience with servicing the HVAC portion of air dryers is strongly preferred. A strong electrical knowledge of low voltage, high voltage, and three-phase electric power is required. Experience with PLCs and other controls systems, pipefitting, and service of compressed air equipment is preferred.
All Technicians are required, as directed by the company Safety Director, to (1) promote and practice proper safety procedures; (2) utilize proper personal protective equipment; and (3) complete a company-sponsored OSHA30 certification.
Responsibilities/Requirements (Includes But Not Limited To)
- High School diploma or equivalent required with technical training in electrical, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics preferred.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- 2+ years of strong mechanical and electrical skills with demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a wide variety of industrial equipment, including electrical, hydraulics and/or pneumatics. Work on low voltage, high voltage and three-phase electrical power is required.
- Air Compressor experience strongly preferred
- HVAC/Refrigeration experience and EPA certification strongly preferred.
- Computer proficiency is required for communication, research, work orders and programming various controllers.
- Travel to customer locations within the service area. Out-of-town and overnight travel may be required from time to time. Expenses and travel costs will be reimbursed.
- Available for a rotating schedule of on-call work - Evenings, Weekends and Holidays.
- Ability to safely use all hand tools and power tools such as drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. on a regular basis and work in industrial environments including extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.
- Excellent driving record and ability to drive company-provided service van or pickup truck is required.
- Daily, complete required paperwork.
- Ability to work independently with strong self-management and professionalism.
- Ability to complete work within assigned deadlines.
