Responsibilities
- Support diverse recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and themed events
- Collaborate with care teams to incorporate therapeutic recreation techniques that support memory care, dementia care, and aging issues counseling
- Support residents in participating in community outings or special events that enhance social connections and community involvement
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, memory care strategies, and dementia care best practices
- Background in recreational therapy or senior care that involves working with individuals with disabilities or long-term care needs
- Proven ability to coordinate events or activities within a caregiving environment while managing schedules effectively
- Strong communication skills for engaging residents of varying cognitive levels and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
