As a Machine Maintenance / Mechanical Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining plating industrial equipment throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated systems. This is a hands-on role, requiring the candidate to take on project work assigned individually or in a team. The technician is expected to help minimize downtime and maintain safe, reliable equipment performance.

1. Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plating lines and various line equipment.
- Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical issues.
- Maintain ancillary equipment like pumps, filters, and heaters.
- Maintain motors, conveyors, piping systems, and fluid-handling equipment.
- Repair or replace worn components as needed.
2. Preventive Maintenance:
- Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
- Document all maintenance activities.
- Conduct routine inspections to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
3. Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Use diagnostic tools to find and fix issues.
- Work to reduce equipment downtime and production interruptions.
4. Facility Maintenance:
- Maintain plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures.
- Ensure safety and environmental compliance.
- Assist with drainage systems, piping repairs, and basic building maintenance.
5. Inventory Management:
- Monitor and help maintenance manager manage spare parts and supplies.
- Coordinate with maintenance manager for critical parts and supplies.
- Help keep the maintenance shop organized and properly stocked.
6. Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Always Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Use required PPE including gloves, goggles, face shields, and respirators when required.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs using the maintenance software.
- Report on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
8. Collaboration:
- Work with production staff to prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors for specialized repairs.
- Support other maintenance team members as needed.
9. Continuous Improvement:
- Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance processes.
- Recommend upgrades or reliability improvements when appropriate.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
This position may perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
- Three (3) years or more of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience (preferred)
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing setup.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Proficient with hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safe work practices (LOTO, machine guarding, etc.)
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk, hear, walk, and stand.
- Occasionally required to sit, carry, kneel, reach, climb, and handle materials.
- Ability to lift - up to 20lbs occasionally, 5-20lbs frequently.
- Requires clear vision at close distances and the ability to adjust focus.

Environment and Scheduling
- Exposure to chemicals and machinery in an electroplating facility.
