The K-8 Director of CTE is responsible for strengthening Missouri’s CTE pipeline by ensuring access, alignment, and readiness for students prior to entry into secondary CTE programs. This role focuses on systems development, access strategies, pathway alignment, and technical assistance that support successful transitions to secondary and postsecondary CTE programs, particularly for local education agencies (LEAs) that lack direct CTE access in earlier grades.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement statewide strategies to improve early access and readiness for elementary-to-secondary CTE programs.
- Support alignment of K-8 career exploration activities with approved secondary CTE programs of study.
- Design and oversee a K-8 career exploration and access grant to support LEAs without direct Perkins eligibility.
- Provide technical assistance to LEAs to strengthen CTE pipeline development and reduce barriers to secondary CTE participation.
- Analyze data to identify access gaps and transition challenges impacting CTE participation at the secondary level.
- Coordinate with secondary and postsecondary partners to improve student transitions into CTE pathways.
- Support integration of career exploration frameworks with ICAP and secondary advising initiatives through collaboration with DESE School Counseling section.
- Collaborate with secondary CTE sections (Agriculture, Business, Marketing, and Information Technology, Family Consumer Sciences and Human Services, Health Science, Industrial Technology and Engineering, and Skilled Technical Sciences) to ensure K-12 programming alignment.
- Conduct other duties and functions as assigned by OCCR leadership.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable and engaged attendance.

- Three or more years of experience of any combination of CTE program administration, workforce development, or career pathways.
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
