PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for cleaning, maintaining, repairing and prepping cages for live haul trailers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Clean and sanitize live haul trailers and cages.

Perform all necessary paperwork associated with assigned job (i.e. work orders, charge parts, etc.).

Inspect and repair cages, adhering to DOT and animal welfare guidelines and regulations.

Drive various heavy duty equipment pieces safely.

General housekeeping duties, maintaining neat, clean and orderly work area.

All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Relative maintenance experience (e.g. cutting, grinding, welding, etc.).

Basic math functions and skills.

Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.

Ability to operate yard equipment (e.g. forklift, yard truck, tractor, etc.)

Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.

Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Previous cage maintenance experience.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.

Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Stand up to 8 hours.

Lift up to 60 lbs.

Frequent exposure to outdoor environment.

Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.

Work around raw, live animal odors.
-
Work in noisy environment (>85 decibels) and moving equipment.
