BROAD RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the School Principal, the Clearpool Assistant Principal will provide strong, consistent leadership to the Education Department at the Carmel campus, being specifically responsible for the functioning of the school grades 3-8. Through a collaborative relationship with all members of the Education team, this position will assist in maintaining a balanced alliance between the Education Department and other departments within the agency, as well as the Brewster campus and organization stakeholders.
The pay rate for this role is $84, 500 -94,500 per year depending on certification and education.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise staff in all classrooms and buildings responsible for all HR and personnel related activities associated with recruiting, hiring and retaining adequate staffing
- Primary Parent contact after classroom staff
- Curriculum coordinator 4th-8th grade
- As part of the school leadership team, work with other school leadership to build and maintain overall education program
- Coordinate state and other assessments
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
- Master’s degree in Education or other related human service field required
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible school related experience required
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory/administrative experience required; can consider internal candidate with multiple years’ of agency service without supervisory experience
- Experience working in a special education and/or 853 school
- Knowledge and understanding of New York State Special Education practices and policies required
Licensure/Certification:
- New York State School Administration Certification, or the ability to obtain one within six years
