Job Title: Legal Assistant
Contract Length: 3 Months
Pay: $23 - $31.36
Summary:
Our client in
NYC is seeking a
Legal Assistant who is responsible to review legal and compliance documents, verify required disclosures, and support franchise filing processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proficient in Microsoft Office, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment. Prior law firm or business experience is a plus, but not required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review responses to comment letters and confirm requested changes.
- Check seller disclosure forms for "yes” responses and escalate when further review is needed.
- Review advertisements for compliance, including required disclosures.
- Conduct first-line review of franchise filing amendments and communicate changes to examiners.
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Reviewing lengthy documents, and reviewing multiple documents at the same time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and comfort using web-based systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing disclosures.
- Ability to multitask.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage tasks in a high-volume environment and escalate issues appropriately.
- Ability to work in an office setting and collaborate as part of a team.
- Law firm or business experience helpful but not required.
