Walla Walla Wine Services is seeking harvest cellar help for the upcoming crush season, approximately mid-August through December. This is a hands-on, seasonal cellar position supporting daily harvest operations and general cellar work.
This role is a great fit for someone who is hard-working, dependable, and interested in gaining practical winery experience. The position will include basic cellar duties along with harvest-specific activities such as fruit sorting, tank cleaning, pumpovers, fermentation work, and general production support.
This position requires full-time availability and schedule flexibility. Hours will vary depending on harvest workload and will likely include overtime during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize tanks, crush equipment, hoses, fittings, and cellar areas
- Assist with fruit receiving, processing, and sorting
- Perform pumpovers and other fermentation management tasks
- Assist with additions, inoculations, and other harvest-related cellar work
- Drain, dig out, and clean fermenters
- Support press operations
- Fill, top, and move barrels as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow instructions carefully and communicate clearly with cellar leads and supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Hard-working, dependable, and self-motivated
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions and work safely in a fast-paced environment
- Works well as part of a small team
- Comfortable with repetitive physical work
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Previous winery, harvest, cellar, or production experience preferred but not required
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
Compensation
$19–22/hour, depending on experience
Eligible for overtime
