Superior Skilled Trades is seeking 5-Axis CNC Machinist in the Wilmington, MA area!
WEEKLY PAY! LONG TERM!
PAY: $35-$55/hour (based upon experience)
HOURS: 8–10 hour workdays (40 hours per week)
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday; 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
DURATION: Contract Position (Open ended)
START DATE: ASAP
CNC Machinist Job Description:
- Set up, program, and operate 5-axis CNC machines to produce precision components
- Perform at-the-machine programming (no full off-line programming required)
- Edit and adjust CNC programs (G-code) as needed to ensure proper part production
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and work-holding for complex 5-axis machining operations
- Run production jobs and monitor machine performance to maintain quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Maintain tight tolerances on complex, multi-axis components
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time corrections at the machine
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications for CNC Machinist:
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Strong experience with 5-axis CNC machine setup, programming, and operation
- Ability to program directly at the machine preferred/required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, and machining strategies
- Experience using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges)
- Ability to maintain tight tolerances on complex parts
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50+ lbs unassisted
- Must be dependable and able to work independently on assigned jobs
Additional Requirements for CNC Machinist:
- LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY (must be within commuting distance of Wilmington, MA)
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must have reliable transportation to the job site
- Drug screening required
- Must wear required PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection
