Our client is an empowering and nurturing pre-school special education network with locations throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Their mission is to provide students with special needs the resources, support, and individualized education they need to thrive both academically and personally.
They are seeking a dedicated Certified Teacher Assistant to join their team and contribute to their mission of making a lasting impact in children’s lives.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am -3pm
Rate: $19.06 -$23.05 per hour based on Teacher Assistant certification Level (I,II,III)
Duties:
- Provide physical and programmatic aid to children assigned.
- Assist with program planning, classroom preparation, and supervision of students.
- Share observations with teachers to help shape individualized learning and behavioral experiences.
- Support students in using instructional resources and assist with developing classroom materials.
- Perform clerical tasks (collating, typing, laminating, answering phones, etc.).
- Participate in case conferences as needed.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Assist with toileting, feeding, and other personal care needs of children.
- Support students with outerwear during arrival and dismissal.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 6 months - 1 year of related experience preferred.
- Completion of required workshops: Child Abuse Identification and School Violence Intervention & Prevention.
- NY State Teacher Assistant Certification (Level I, II, or III).
- Successfully passed the NYS Teacher Certification Exam (ATAS)
