Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Lead Digital Press Operator/Department Manager to oversee digital print production at our Aurora facility. This position combines hands-on press operation with day-to-day leadership of a small production team.
You will help manage workflow, maintain quality standards, and keep production running efficiently while working alongside a team of 2–3 digital press operators and production staff.
Experience with Xerox iGen equipment is highly valued. Familiarity with Xerox FreeFlow software is a plus, and training can be provided.
Experience with Prepress Functions and Preflighting strongly preferred.
Equipment We Have
Our digital production floor includes:
- Xerox iGen5 120 color presses with 5th color capability
- Konica Minolta AccurioPress C7100 with in-line finishing for saddle-stitched books
- Konica Minolta AccurioPress 6136P
- Konica Minolta bizhub 1051 monochrome presses with in-line finishing
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain production digital presses
- Help coordinate daily workflow and job priorities
- Provide guidance and support to a small team of operators
- Ensure color consistency, print quality, and production efficiency
- Troubleshoot press issues and minimize downtime
- Perform routine maintenance and oversee that ALL equipment is in working order
- Work with prepress and bindery to move jobs through production smoothly
- Maintain safety and production standards on the floor
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years experience operating production digital presses
- Experience with Prepress Functions and Preflighting of files
- Experience with Xerox and/or Konica Minolta production equipment
- Prior lead operator, shift lead, or supervisory experience is a strong plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize workflow and keep production moving
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a production environment
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
