Summary:
To be the lead Housekeeper for all Housekeeping staff. To maintain Laurelwood Community interior, including Residents’ apartments, in a clean and sanitary fashion. To provide Dining Room services to Residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be the team leader for Housekeeping.
- Perform inventory control of linens, towels, and other supplies under Housekeeping control.
- Oversee all housekeeping operations, notifying Management Team of areas that need additional attention and resolution.
- Train all Housekeepers in proper cleaning systems and procedures as well as maintenance of cleaning equipment and vacuums.
- Communicate Housekeeping needs to the Management Team for approval.
- Support decisions of the Management Team to other staff members and Residents.
- Vacuum, dust, and clean all common areas, hallways and patios, paying special attention to the main entry area. Specific items to check are carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows, and light fixtures. Empty large trash containers located in common areas daily.
- Service Residents’ apartments, which includes but is not limited to, vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets; dusting; cleaning windows, bathrooms, patios or decks, ceilings, walls, drapes, shelves, light fixtures; cleaning and defrosting refrigerators (as needed); cleaning and checking heat system filters; etc. Change bed and bath linens, ensuring there are adequate linen supplies in each apartment and empty wastebaskets, turn twin mattresses only, double mattresses are to be turned by Managers.
- Deep clean apartments as needed.
- Keep all laundry and linen rooms clean and organized.
- Launder all linens (except Residents’ personal linens) by washing and drying in the laundry facilities provided.
- Check food and beverage carts for meal requirements.
- Serve meals to each resident's table following Laurelwood Assisted Living procedures.
- Bus tables.
- Clear and wash tables and chairs.
- Deliver trays to and pick up from Residents’ rooms, when necessary.
- Be courteous to all Residents. Be attentive and smile while serving and cleaning.
- Work closely as a team with other members of the staff to ensure efficient and safe operation of the Dining Room and Kitchen.
- Follow Laurelwood Assisted Living sanitation and safety procedures.
- Must demonstrate high standards of ethics and personal accountability.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- May be assigned to any other job function.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Familiarize and abide by all the expectations and standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform all work assigned for the agreed-upon wage, accepting no additional payment or non-perishable gifts from Residents, vendors, Management, or others.
- Meet the assigned work-hour requirements of the job. Regular attendance is required.
- Ability to keep all business and operations information confidential.
- Desire and ability to be a team player.
- Communicate effectively in English with Laurelwood Assisted Living Associates and Residents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Normal hospitality environment.
Physical Demands:
- Continuous combination of walking and standing.

Education/Experience:
- Prior related experience is preferred.
- Ability to be a team leader.
- Ability to perform housekeeping duties following housekeeping sanitation standards and current guidelines.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with Residents regarding the care and cleaning of their apartments.
- Ability to understand and communicate food orders given by Residents.
- Ability to follow food-service instructions and serve Residents and their guests in a gracious manner.
