Where You Will Work:
Our 24‑bed Neurosurgical Unit at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center provides care for a diverse and complex patient population. As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), this unit exposes teammates to cutting‑edge neurosurgical techniques, advanced technology, and highly specialized neurological care.
You will care for a wide range of patients, including:

Post‑operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections

Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgery patients
-
Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program
-
High‑volume cervical and spinal procedures
-
Medical overflow patients requiring specialized neurological monitoring
This is an excellent environment for both experienced nurses and new graduate RNs, who are strongly encouraged to apply.
We’re Looking For:

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
-
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
-
Strong interest in neurosurgical or neuro‑complex care
-
A commitment to teamwork, communication, and continual professional growth
What You’ll Do:
As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care using the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic, evidence‑based care. Responsibilities include:

Implementing the nursing process to assess, plan, provide, and evaluate care for neuro‑complex patients

Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including neurosurgeons, neurologists, advanced practice clinicians, therapy, and care management

Applying critical thinking, clinical judgment, and skilled communication to support high‑quality outcomes
-
Leading efforts that support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience

Supporting patients and families through complex neurological conditions and recovery
