Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Rental Equipment Shop Tech 1 to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a wide variety of construction, industrial, and aerial equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and ready for customer use. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on rental equipment including excavators, forklifts, tractors, booms, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and other construction related machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Perform repairs such as engine diagnostics, transmission servicing, hydraulic cylinder repairs, and welding repairs.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Assist with new equipment inspections, warranty repairs, and testing to ensure operational safety standards are met before rental or sale.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed in compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during maintenance activities to promote a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with rental dealer or heavy equipment service environments preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, diesel engines, HVAC systems, and air brakes.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering.
- Familiarity with OEM parts and schematics for JLG, Skyjack, Skytrac, Genie, John Deere, Vermeer, Ditch Witch, JCB, or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate Aerial equipment such as Booms, Scissors, Telehandlers, Back Hoes, Excavators, or general machinery is a plus.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics and machine diagnostics with an emphasis on diesel, DC electric battery powered or gasoline engine repair.
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and service manuals.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery safely.
- Valid certifications in forklift operation or heavy equipment operation are advantageous; relevant training will be provided if needed.

Pay: $26.53 - $44.95 per hour
