Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
- Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with accuracy and professionalism
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols
- Maintain a safe environment by using equipment like Hoyer lifts and following aseptic techniques during patient care procedures
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, or behavioral health to deliver comprehensive patient care
Experience
- Prior experience working in medical-surgical units, intensive care units (ICU), emergency departments, or post-acute care settings is highly valued
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Cerner for medical documentation and patient records management
- Experience caring for patients with infectious diseases or those requiring hospice or palliative care services
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient handling and treatment
- Background working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges in assisted living or home & community care environments
- Critical care experience in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers adds significant value
- Familiarity with specialized procedures such as phlebotomy, catheter care, and basic life support (BLS) certification is advantageous
