About Us:
We are a family-owned group of excavation, construction, and landscape companies serving Connecticut for over 10 years. Our businesses include landscape design, installation, and maintenance, a wholesale nursery operation, and a rapidly growing excavation, paving, hardscape, and site development company.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated excavation manager to work directly alongside the director of this division. This individual will play a key role in daily operations while developing into a future leadership position within the fast-growing company.
Position Overview:
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone with experience in concrete, excavation, paving, hardscape, or general site work who is looking to take the next step in their career.
The successful candidate will assist in managing multiple crews, overseeing projects, working with customers, preparing estimates, coordinating materials and equipment, and helping drive the continued growth of the company by utilizing a keen eye for efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in overseeing excavation, paving, drainage, retaining wall, concrete, and hardscape projects
· Support and help manage multiple field crews and foremen
· Meet with prospective clients and prepare estimates and proposals
· Coordinate schedules, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
· Visit job sites to ensure quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
· Answer customer inquiries and maintain strong client relationships
· Assist with invoicing, job costing, and project documentation
· Work closely with management to improve operations and support company growth
· Identify opportunities to refer clients to our landscape and nursery divisions
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in construction, excavation, site work, paving, hardscapes, landscape construction, or project management
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Experience estimating and interacting with customers preferred
· Working knowledge of excavation, grading, drainage, paving, concrete, and hardscape construction
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
