American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Windsor, VT, requiring charge RN experience, prior travel experience, and on-call availability.

Night shift position, 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
-
36 hours per week
-
Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a small community hospital
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4/5
-
Average daily patient census of 22
-
Charting via Cerner EMR
-
Every other weekend required; holiday coverage required as needed
-
On-call is required for this position
-
Floating required to Acute Rehab and any other unit within scope of practice
-
Active RN license for Vermont or a Compact RN license currently in hand
-
Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Rehab RN experience required
-
Charge RN experience required — non-negotiable
-
At least 3 months of prior travel nursing experience required

BSN preferred
-
Must have a personal vehicle — this is a firm requirement as the surrounding community has no public transportation

Must be willing and available to take call

Current Med/Surg skills checklist (within the past year) required for consideration

At least one supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years required for consideration
-
Coordinates total nursing care for patients and participates in patient and family education
-
May be asked to serve as backup Charge Nurse

Works cooperatively with ancillary and interdisciplinary team members to maintain professional nursing practice standards
-
Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
-
RTO of no more than 5 days may be requested, and all scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application — requests made after an offer is extended will not be approved

Block scheduling will not be accommodated

Travelers should not be simultaneously working another permanent or travel assignment
