Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Immigration Compliance Attorney in San Juan, PR. This role offers a promising opportunity for a dedicated attorney to gain valuable experience and advance their career within an established firm. The attorney will manage their caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.
Duties
Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions.
Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
Manage a workload of diverse immigration cases.
Prepare immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
Review and adjust immigration applications and packets as needed.
Collaborate with law enforcement and community organizations on immigration law changes.
Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients.
Provide legal analysis to determine case benefits.
Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
Ensure compliance with immigration regulations through auditing and advising.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in Immigration Law.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
Experience with Case Management Software preferred.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Certifications
Admitted to practice law.
Skills
Strong legal research and writing skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
