Job Purpose and Summary
Assist in the development of sales strategy and commercial operations within the United Genetics Seeds Co. Responsible for maintaining and growing customer accounts in Latin America markets. Promote varieties to potential customers and establish new markets.
Duties and responsibilities

Work with cross-functional team in the development of sales strategy for the company.

Assist in improving efficiency in the commercial operations of the company.

Responsible to setting and achieving yearly sales budget for the assigned territory.

Increase sales and market share by promoting and introducing new commercial varieties in each of the assigned markets.

Set annual price list for each product and market.
-
Undertake seed sales and product development activities in other international markets as needed.

Manage people and operational budget.
-
Establish and maintain good business relations with growers, seed dealers and processors.

Review and coordinate resolution of product quality and performance claims.
-
Support breeding activity through establishing variety trials for the different crops in the different growing areas under the assigned territory.

Evaluate trials, analyze data and present results to support advancement of varieties to pre-commercial and commercial phases.

Present data to customers to objectively measure the potential of the advancing products.

Travel to vegetable production areas to visit dealers, customers, and growers to promote sales.

Prepare presentations and lead discussions with internal and external customers.

Responsible for setting up publicity and promotion programs.

Organize visits for local and international visitors to processors, field trials and crop production sites.

Work with seed production and inventory to establish sales demand and forecast.

Attend pertinent industry wide crop and business meetings.

Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, programs and industry RCRA, CERCLA, NFPA, and FDA) and regulations. Implement and/or recommend control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.

Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Internal Contacts:
Direct contact with CEO, Executive Vice President, all Plant Breeders, Station Manager, Pathologist, Product Development, sales personnel, breeder assistant and crew.
External Contacts:
Dealer customers, grower customers, government institutions.
Educational Level and Focus:
Bachelors in Agriculture and/or have the experience to perform the Job.
Skills and Abilities:

Bilingual in Spanish.

Communicate effectively by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

Knowledge of: Inventory Control Systems, Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Knowledge of vegetable crops, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the profitability of the company.

Must be able to work in the office Greenhouses and fields under extreme conditions, be physically fit to walk, bend, kneel, squat, bend your neck and lift up to 30 lbs. International travel up to 60%.
