Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal control environment. This individual will play a key role in supporting executive leadership with financial planning, business analysis, and operational decision-making.
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented organization. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter that is looking to grow this department to match the growth within our organization
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Financial Planning & Business Support
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership
- Support long-range planning initiatives and strategic business objectives
- Evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement
- Individual will hold the senior-most finance seat in the organization
- Individual will be responsible for transitioning the entire accounting function from an outside provider to in-house, so candidates should be comfortable standing up new processes, not just inheriting or improving existing ones
- Individual should be experienced with complex entity structures
Accounting & Reporting
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Develop and maintain effective accounting policies and procedures
- Organize financials for first-time audit readiness and ongoing audit support
- complete weekly reporting tasks regarding operational performance
Cash Flow & Treasury Operations
- Monitor liquidity, cash forecasting, and working capital requirements
- Manage relationships with banking partners and financial institutions
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activities
- Assist with financing activities and capital planning initiatives
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure timely tax filings and compliance with applicable regulations
- Maintain a strong internal control framework
- Assess financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Stay informed of accounting and regulatory developments impacting the business
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a finance and accounting team
- Establish performance objectives and provide ongoing coaching
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Partner with department leaders across the organization to support business goals
Team Collaboration
- Work Closely with the flight operations, crew, and other departments to ensure a smooth, seamless flight experience for all clients
- Actively participate and create team meetings and training sessions to improve skills, share feedback, and stay updated on company procedures and industry trends
- Drive initiatives to improve accounting processes, policies, and procedures based on customer feedback, data analysis, and industry best practices
- Champion the adoption of new tools and technologies that streamline reporting and ensure data accuracy
- Proactively identify and address areas of concern or improvement
- Coordinate with the training and quality assurance teams to ensure staff is equipped with the right knowledge and tools to succeed.
Required Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
- CPA, MBA, CFA, or comparable professional credential
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- At least 4 years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and reporting requirements
- Experience managing complex budgets and financial planning processes
- Advanced proficiency in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Experience working with enterprise accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms and ability to develop recommendations for transition from QuickBooks
Experience
- Background supporting a private equity-backed or publicly traded organization
- Exposure to acquisitions, due diligence, or post-acquisition integration
- Experience improving financial processes within a growing company
- Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of witting and standing
- Must regularly be able to lift up to 50 pounds
